N.Y. Man Spends Government Money on Internet Porn

NEW YORK — A former New York worker for the Department of Correction used city money to pay for membership to two CE Cash porn sites, it was alleged after a probe of accounts managed by the Comptroller’s Office.

Bronx resident Duwinn McClelland paid $49.95 each for monthly membership to ChocolateTails.com and BareBlack.com — two CE Cash sites — that he let rebill for the next three and a half years, costing taxpayers $42,000, city prosecutors said.

Assistant District Attorney Andrew Seewald said McClelland siphoned $100 per month from a bank account the city used to pay worker’s compensation. The DA’s office said McClelland confessed using the account to pay for porn.

McClelland, a former maintenance worker on disability since 1993, was arraigned Saturday in Manhattan Criminal Court on larceny and fraud charges. He is being held on $2,500 bail.

McClelland’s lawyer told the New York Post that his client, who used the handle John Awesome online, only signed up once to the CE Cash sites and didn’t think he’d be rebilled every month.
